The incident occurred following a dispute over the fare between the passengers and the driver. The deceased passenger has been identified as Ahmed, while his injured brother is named Ayub, aged 26.
The unfortunate incident unfolded during a journey from Majestic to Yeshwantpur railway station. Upon reaching their destination, the auto driver demanded an inflated fare, leading to a heated argument between the passengers and the driver. The altercation escalated, and the driver resorted to physically assaulting the passengers and ultimately stabbing them.
Ahmed tragically succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital, while Ayub is currently receiving intensive medical care in the hospital’s ICU due to the severity of his wounds.
The authorities have acted swiftly and apprehended the auto driver responsible for the heinous act. Further investigation by the police revealed that the accused had other pending cases against him in the Hassan district.
