What is Hamas? Hamas is one of the Palestinian territories’ two political parties, an Islamist Militant movement. It generally governs more than 2 million Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, but notoriously it is known for its armed resistance to its neighboring country Israel.
In 2023 October month, Hamas launched a massive attack on the southern border of Israel, leaving behind hundreds of civilians’ and soldiers’ dead bodies and taking many hostages.
In retaliation, Israel has declared war and clearly indicated its military is planning for a long battle to defeat it.
Due to its bad image internationally, Hamas has been designated as a terrorist organization by many countries, while some label this on its military wing only. Iran is one such country that provides financial and material support, while Turkey harbors some of the top leaders in its country.

the second party, its rival, Fatah, dominates the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) and rules in West Bank, has renounced the violence.
The instability and their contrary nature between Hamas and the Fatah party have always led a tension, and it did not allow stability in the Gaza Strip.
