After filing a police report, Ramesh posted on X, the former Twitter platform, saying, “This anti-Hindu film Annapoorani has been released on Netflix, produced by Zee Studios, Naad Studios, and Trident Arts, at a time when the whole world is rejoicing in anticipation of the Pran Pratishtha of Bhagwan Shri Ram Mandir.”
He also noted the scenes that offended the Hindu community in his X post. “The daughter of Hindu Poojari offers to make biryani for Namaz. This film promotes love jihad. Actor Farhan convinces the actress to have meat by pointing out that Bhagwan Shri Ram also ate meat, he wrote on X.
The actors Jai, Nilesh Krishna, Jatin Sethi of Naad Studios, R Ravindran of Trident Arts, Punit Goenka of Zee Studios, Shariq Patel, and Monika Shergil of Netflix India were among the parties named in the complaint against Jawan-actress Nayanthara.

Following the film’s release on Netflix, a number of conservative social media users have voiced their disapproval of the film and demanded that the filmmakers face legal consequences. In certain places, numerous right-wing groups also staged protests against the films.
